Panasonic appoints AxiCom

Panasonic AVC Systems Europe (PAVCSE) has appointed specialist technology agency AxiCom to handle its business to business PR programme in multiple European countries. AxiCom will work with two Panasonic business units covering its broadcast technology and its professional plasma and projectors business units in the UK, Germany, France, Spain and Italy. The agreement also covers additional requirements for PR activity in Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), Central and Eastern Europe.

The agency was selected to work with two Panasonic business units covering all core products for broadcast and professional AV, including state-of-the-art P2 workflow and AVC-Intra codec technology, cam-corders, HD cameras, monitors, and mixers. Panasonic’s range of professional plasmas and projectors will also be covered by the agreement with AxiCom. The agency will provide PR support for all commercial and custom plasma products as well as Panasonic’s range of portable projectors targeted at vertical industries.

AxiCom was selected to work with Panasonic’s Professional & Broadcast IT Systems (PBITS) and Professional Projector and Displays Europe (PPDE) business units following a competitive three-way pitch process. AxiCom’s PR programme is aimed at raising the profile of the company’s broadcast and professional AV products in existing markets and new vertical sectors.

“The professional broadcast and display market remains highly competitive and it is important for us to be able to generate the awareness our products deserve,” said Mr. Masaki Arizono, PAVCSE Managing Director. “We needed an agency partner offering not only a specialist knowledge of our industry and the market sectors we work in but also a capacity to work with us on a pan-European basis. AxiCom has the right combination of experience and reach to deliver on this requirement and we are looking forward to working with the team to build out our presence in our key markets.”

Commenting on the partnership, Julian Tanner, AxiCom’s CEO said: “This is an exciting win for AxiCom’s long-established Digital Media practice and is a testament to our ability to offer depth of knowledge and technology expertise in this field across multiple countries. Panasonic has formidable brand equity and a fantastic product set and we are looking forward to contributing to the company’s continued success.”

The PBITS business unit includes video formats and core products for broadcast and professional AV, including camera-recorders, video recorders, monitors and mixers. The PPDE business unit encompasses a range of plasma and projector products for professional installation and business applications.
